COL. V. F. FAIRFAX, 90, of Memphis, retired from the Air Force after 30 years and retired vice president and general manager from Wells Fargo Armored Service, died Saturday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at noon Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Official Board, Memphis Downtown Rotary Club and University Club and graduate of The Citadel. He was a World War II veteran and recipient of Legion of Merit for Meritorious Service in 1947. Col. Fairfax, the husband of Louise Crowell Fairfax for 62 years, also leaves three daughters, Alice Kilian of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Mary Nichols of Jackson, Miss., and Jeannie Fairfax of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a brother, Preston Fairfax of Jacksonville, Fla., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
