Robert Michael Steinbach, 78, passed away on July 28, 2025. He lived in Annapolis, MD with his wife, Laura. Mike was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, on September 7, 1946, the son of Robert H. Steinbach and Beatrice A. Grueneberg. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and attended Stout State University before joining the Navy (submarine service) during the Vietnamese War. Mike and Laura met and married in Charleston, S.C., where he was stationed in the Navy. He later graduated from the Citadel in Charleston, with a degree in Business Administration. Mike worked in various management positions, including restaurants, and also enjoyed working at the Christian Bookstore in Annapolis. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Baltimore Orioles, volunteering at St. Agnes Hospital, and going on retreat weekends with his church. He and Laura enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach, and he especially liked going to a state park each summer with his children and 6 grandchildren. Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Laura; son, Rob Steinbach Jr., and daughter, Liz Jones; six grandchildren, Miriam, Samuel, Ellie, Asher, Lincoln and Benny. Also great granddaughter, Laura Anne; His brother, Paul Steinbach, as well as nieces, Tracy and Kelly and nephews, Eric and Mark. A memorial service will be held at his church, Downtown Hope, 255 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10 am. On August 12, 2025 at 11:30, there will be a Veterans Cemetery Tribute and interment service at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, Md 21032.
