Robert Franklin Seaborn of Apalachicola, Florida, passed away at home September 6, 2022. Born January 18, 1942, and raised, in Calloway, Florida, Bob was the youngest of six children of Emma Elizabeth Gill Seaborn and William Fredrick Seaborn.
Bob was a graduate of Bay County High School, Florida State University where he earned a BA degree in English education and the Citadel Military College where he earned a master’s degree in education.
In 1970 Bob was married to Marlene Williams Seaborn. They lived and taught in Kingstree, SC. After their daughter’s birth in 1972 they returned to Mt Pleasant, SC, where they lived for 40 years later returning to Bob’s native Gulf Coast. Bob loved the waters of the Gulf and Low Country of SC. Always inquisitive, Bob had many interests and hobbies including gardening, boating and cooking. Bob loved animals, especially his pets.
In 2015 Bob retired from his position of special education teacher with Charleston County School District. A truly gifted teacher Bob was awarded Teacher of the Year while at Moultrie Middle School. His last position was at Windwood Farms.
Bob is survived by his widow Marlene, their daughter Lauren Merritt Seaborn, his brother-in-law Fr Lenwood Williams of Summerville (Angela) and many beloved nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, brothers; James,(Juanita), Buck, (Ouida)and Charles and by his sisters Agnes (Ken) and Eloise; and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Holder (Lefty).
A memorial service will be held October 1, 2022 , at 12:00 noon. The service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 79 6th St., Apalachicola 32320. Memorials may be made to Trinity Church, Carolina Poodle Rescue, 6705 Union Hwy, Pacolet, SC 29372 or the charity of your choice.
