The Citadel Alumni Association Contributes to Scholarships

The Citadel Alumni Association capped off a banner year of giving at its annual membership meeting. The Association will contribute $900,000 to support college operations, CAA legacy cadet and need-based scholarships, and enhance The Citadel’s Service to Country Tuition Scholarships and National Service Room and Board Scholarships for ROTC cadets.

  • Welcome to all of our Gold Corps Reunion class members!

The Gold Corps Reunion is for classes who have celebrated their 50th Reunions so we are happy to welcome the Class of 1974 to their first Gold Corps!

Gold Corps has become a Citadel tradition. Attendees enjoy the standard “big weekend” events without the crowds and when the weather is much milder. In addition, there are activities just for Gold Corps scheduled throughout the weekend.

  • 182 years ago today, on March 20, 1843, the first Cadets reported to The Citadel on Marion Square. This date is celebrated today as "Corps Day," the official anniversary of the formation of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

  • The Citadel's Army ROTC Palmetto Battalion recognized 37 cadets during an oath ceremony in front of cadet peers, Citadel alumni and fans at a recent athletic event. The ceremony honored 18 MSI, 16 MSII and 6 MSIII cadets committing to military service. COL James M. Collins, USA, '97, Army Professor of Military Science, administered the oath, emphasizing the significance of their commitment and reinforcing the battalion’s dedication to the development of future Army leaders.
  • LTC Timothy A. Terese, USA, Ret., ’97, celebrated his 50th birthday on Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pa. Terese is the recruiting and operations officer for The Citadel’s Palmetto Battalion Army ROTC program. He attended the ROO Workshop in San Antonio, including a visit to the Texas Military Institute, supported several JROTC events and visited high schools in the Charleston area, and supported the battalion’s Branch Day, which introduced cadets to potential Army career paths.
