Draffin (brief) – Columbia,SC Date of Death: 03/14/2007 Notice Frank Craig Draffin of 276 Shoreline Drive, Columbia died on March 14, 2007 at Life Care Nursing Center on Hilton Head Island, SC at the age of 52 after an extended illness. He was born in Columbia and was the son of the late Shirley T. Engel and Dr. F. Marion Draffin of Columbia. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1973 and was a 1978 graduate of The Citadel with a degree in political science. He was an insurance sales representative and administrator throughout his career with Equitable Life Insurance Company, Companion Life Insurance Company, Carolina Continental Life Insurance Company, and the State of South Carolina Office of Insurance Services before his retirement. He was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, and a former member of Forest Lake Club, the Columbia area Citadel Club, and the Brigadier Club and was an active volunteer and coach with the Palmetto Little Boys Baseball League at the Carolina ChildrenÆs Home. He is survived by three children, Grace Craig Draffin, John Carlisle Draffin and William James Draffin of Columbia; and brothers Stephen T. Draffin of Columbia and Dr. Richard M. Draffin of Durham, North Carolina. A private memorial service will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in his memory, and he will be interred in the Eastminster Memorial Garden.
