Class of 1969 55th Reunion
The reunion committee has been hard at work planning the 55th reunion. After many hours of phone calls, emails and personal discussions at the Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville class luncheons, it has been decided to have a 55th reunion on a weekend other than Homecoming.
We also decided to make it as easy and inexpensive as possible for those wanting to attend.
- There will be no theme or costumes this year.
- There will be no Hats or gifts for wives.
- There will not be a CLASS Dinner or Hospitality Hotel.
- There will not be a march on the football field.
The committee has answered all the questions you might have at this time about WHY.
Date is September 28th. This will be Parents Weekend with open barracks at 8:30am and Jeep Review Parade at 10:45am. The tailgate will start at 11:30am in the Alumni Courtyard at the Holliday Alumni Center, with a FREE open bar, and FREE lunch starting at 12:00pm noon. This tailgate is being paid for by the money the committee has saved over the last several reunions –approx. ($10,000).
We play ETSU and kickoff will most likely be at 2:00pm. Football tickets are not included – please contact the Ticket Office to purchase tickets. We have a block of reserved seating, down low in the stadium so we won’t have many stairs to climb. Order on your own 843-953-3647.
Dinner on Saturday night will be on your own.
Put your own group together to enjoy some of Charleston’s well-known restaurants.
As for hotels, go online to find one that fits your budget. There are several across the bridge in Mt. Pleasant as well as West Ashley. Rooms at the Marriott close to campus are approx. $300 per night.
