William Richard “Willie” Gamble, 74, of Manning, widower of Linda Wilder Gamble, died Saturday, April 25, 2020, at McLeod Health Clarendon. Born February 2, 1946, in Cades, he was a son of the late Robert Ira
Gamble and the late Garnette Hodges Gamble. He was a graduate of The
Citadel and earned his master’s degree from the University of South
Carolina. He was a US Army veteran, former owner and operator of Gamble
& Stuckey Construction Company, and he was a member of the
Presbyterian Church at Manning. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Gamble Hartzog (Bobby) and
Lucy Gamble Smith (Brian); four grandchildren, Lucy Camlin Hartzog, Anne
Wilder Hartzog, John Wilder Smith and Graham Matthews Hartzog, all of
Manning; two brothers, Joe Clyde Gamble (Jo) of Savannah, Georgia and
James Woodrow Gamble (Kathy) of Cades; a sister, Patsy Gamble Belk (Jim)
of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.A private graveside service will be held at Clarendon Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church at Manning, P.O.
