William John Will Connolly, age not given, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Doris Connolly. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Friday at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (893-4177), with burial at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park. A native of Charleston, S.C., he received his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel and his MBA and Ph.D in education finance and economics of education from Florida State University. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army; during those years he was assigned to the Army General Staff and served in the office of the director of Army Budget at the Pentagon. After his retirement from the Army in 1973 he returned to Tallahassee to join the Florida Commissioner of Education’s staff. He later joined the staff and faculty of Tallahassee Community College as an adjunct faculty member until he retired in 1995. He served as past executive director of Killearn Homes Inc. and was a member of Tallahassee’s Transit Advisory Committee. He was also appointed by the Tallahassee City Commission to the city’s municipal-code enforcement board. Other survivors include a son, Michael W. Connolly (and wife Suzi); a daughter, Jean M. Connolly; and a grandson, David W. Connolly. All are of Tallahassee.
