William J. “Bill” Coggin, of Greeneville, Tenn., son of Walter Lee and Renie Beach Coggin, passed away at his home Saturday at the age 89 after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Coggin was born in Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended Sullivan’s Island Grade School, Porter Guad Millitary Academy and the Citadel. After graduation, he joined the FBI, where he spent 30 years as a Special Agent.
In 1997, he and his wife, Pat, moved to Del Rio, where they bought and worked a 100 acre farm for the next 15 years, raising Angus cattle and Boer goats.
After being diagnosed with leukemia in 2012, he and Pat sold the farm and moved to Greeneville, where they have resided until the present.
Bill is survived by his loving wife: Patricia “Pat” Meyers Coggin; his three children: Cathering Kelleher, Lisa Hindman and Rob Coggin; four grandchildren: and four great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
