William Dorn Prevost, age 87, husband of the late Aileen Sain Prevost, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2009, at Anderson Place. Born in Anderson, S.C. on July 24, 1922, he was a son of the late Frank Keith Prevost, Sr. and Nell Acker Prevost. He was a graduate of The Citadel and was a veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II and the United States Air Force Reserves – retiring as Lt. Col. after thirty-three years of service. Mr. Prevost was active in the local and state Easter Seals Society, the USAF Reserves and served as the Group Commander for the Civil Air Patrol for twenty years. In addition, he served numerous terms on the Anderson City Council and was a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC). Mr. Prevost was the retired co-owner of Horton-Prevost Insurance Agency. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the Church Choir for sixty-nine years. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Brickle and husband, Michael Brickle, of Anderson; grandchildren: David Brickle, Kathryn Brickle and Aaron Brickle; and a brother, Frank Keith Prevost, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to his parents and wife, a sister, Marguerite Prevost Powers; and two brothers, Dr. Claude Prevost and Ernest Prevost, preceded him in death. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dennis R. Tedder. Interment will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009.
