William Allen “Bill” Logan, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, a retired Director of General Services for the County of Charleston died Monday, July 10, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Bill was born March 12, 1936 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Alexander C. and Mary McClary Logan. He was a graduate of The Citadel where he received a commission in the U.S. Army Infantry and served as a company commander. Active in community affairs, he was a charter member of the West Ashley Optimist and was selected Man of the Year. Bill was also a member of the Rotary Club. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union, President of Charleston County Public Facilities Corporation, board member of the County’s Board of Assessments and Appeals, and Director and Budget Chair of the Charleston Rifle Club. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene Orvin Logan of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Rachel L. Duncan (Alan Duncan) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, William Allen Logan, Jr. (Alanna Logan) of Purcellville, VA and Preston Orvin Logan (Jaci Logan) of Fallston, MD; eight grandchildren, Robert Hunt, Ryan Hunt, Emily Duncan, Kristen Beaubien, Taylor Beaubien, Jr., Christian Logan, Brady Logan and Bryce Logan; one-great grandchild, Ivy Kline; sisters, Anne Hauck of Charleston, SC and Miriam Peacock of Summerville, SC. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Overcash and Marjorie Fuseler and brother, Alexander Logan.
