William Lawrence Ashmore, 74, resident of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born August 28, 1949, in Greenville, he was a son of Rosa Briggs Ashmore and the late Virgil Lawrence “Billy” Ashmore, Jr. He was a member of the first graduating class of Wade Hampton High School and attended the Citadel. Larry was a US Army veteran who loved sailing, boating and his family.
Surviving are his mother of Greenwood; one sister, Andrea Lauren Ashmore (Royce White) of St. Joe Beach, FL; one brother, Croft Briggs Ashmore (Bette) of Wewahitchka, FL; nieces, Ashley Elizabeth Lindmar (Jonathan), and Andrea Lauren Solis (Gus); and great nephews, Dylan, Braylon, Rylan, and Liam all of Islamorado, Fl.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2pm Sunday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 Sunday afternoon.
