Victor R. Feicht NEWBERRY, SC – Entered into eternal rest on the morning of January 1, 2010, Colonel Victor R. Feicht, U.S. Army (Ret.) widower of LaRue Hill Feicht. Residence, Newberry, SC, formerly of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at ten o’clock. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Friday, February 19, 2010 at three o’clock with full military honors. Friends may call at Stuhr’s Downtown Chapel Monday between five and seven o’clock. Colonel Feicht was born February 3, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Victor William Feicht and Bertha Kehm Feicht. He was a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1950, graduate of Command and General Staff College and several other service schools. In his thirty years of service to the United States Army, Colonel Feicht served in Washington, DC on the Army Staff and with NATO in Allied Forces in Southern Europe. Col. Feicht commanded the 1st Battalion of the 22nd Artillery, 4th Armored Division in Germany. He served as the Commander of the Support Group of the U.S. Army, Pittsburg Air Defense and Reserve Support. Col. Feicht served as the Commander of Fort Greely, Alaska and Commander of Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Col. Feicht served as the Installation Commander of Mt. McPherson, GA to include Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico and Ft. Gilliam, GA. Following retirement, Col. Feicht served as the Director of Financial Support Services for the Carolina Youth Development Center. He was a former member of the Fairbanks Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Atlanta East Point. Col. Feicht was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, The Citadel Brigadier Club and a Life Member of The Citadel Alumni Association. Among Col. Feicht’s many decorations, they included three Legion of Merit, Army Commendation Medal, various service ribbons to include the Parachute Badge and several Foreign Decorations. He is survived by his daughter: Michelle F. Laughlin and her husband Robert of Prosperity, SC; one granddaughter, Carmen Laughlin of Prosperity, SC and one grandson, Calvin Vogel of Tulsa, OK.
