Lead Author Col. Thomas R. Dion ’68, retired emeritus professor of civil engineering presented a copy of “History of the Free School Board of Dorchester in the Province of Carolina” to Daniel Library’s Pamela Orme, specialist technical services, and Capt. Dan Hawkins, head of library public services, for inclusion in Daniel Library’s Rare Book Collection. The book was written with Walter M. Bailey Jr. and William L. Walker Jr. All proceeds from this 300th anniversary commemorative book project will help fund the Dorchester board’s scholarships. Copies are available from the Timrod Library, the Summerville Museum and the Dorchester Heritage Center in Saint George.
