Thomas “Tom” Frederick Fagan, III, 61 of Pendleton, SC, died May 15, 2025, on an island in Beaufort, SC, living life to its fullest until the very end.
Please join us as family and friends gather to celebrate Tom’s adventurous life on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Hannon Farm, 1800 Hannon Farm Road, Fort Mill, SC from 2:00 until 5:00, bringing love, laughter and stories to share.
Thomas was born on November 27, 1963, in Tifton, GA, the son of Thomas F. Jr. and Theresa (Barlow) Fagan. Tom graduated from The Citadel and served in the U.S. Navy as a P3 pilot during Desert Storm. He married Tammy Fagan and had four wonderful children, Kemper, Walt, Trent and Ford. Tom spent many years in Rock Hill, SC raising his family, then transitioned to teaching and coaching in the low country of South Carolina, following his passion for athletics and instruction. At the time of his death Tom was touching kid’s lives at Colleton County High School.
Tom’s passion for the outdoors was the foundation of his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, archery or simply walking in the woods. His places of peace were “The Island” in Beaufort, his family’s cabin on the Alapaha River and his archery club, Broken Arrow. Tom had a strong faith in God and the circle of life.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Fagan, Jr.
Tom is survived by his mother, Theresa Fagan of Greenwood, SC, Tammy Fagan of Pendleton, SC, his children Kemper Anne Fagan of Rock Hill, SC, LT Walter Harvey Fagan, US Navy of Picayune, MS, Thomas Trenton Fagan of Pendleton, SC and 2nd LT Bedford Wayne Fagan, US Army of Pendleton, SC. Tom is also survived by his siblings, Lynn (John) Cathcart of Greenwood, SC, Tim (Loretta) Fagan of Moultrie, GA, Leslie (Devon) Coughlan of Ocean Ridge, FL and Lori (Jason) Powell of Anderson, SC, and his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to: The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation or a charity of your choice in memory of Thomas.
