Mr. Leheney was born December 11, 1937, in Alameda, California, to Irvine R. and Barbara J. Batten Leheney. He was a 1959 graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, SC. He had 35 years of service with GE in Cleveland, OH before his retirement in 1998. After retirement, he and his wife Marcia moved to Hilton Head Island. He is survived by his wife Marcia Leheney of Hilton Head Island, SC; children, David (Maureen) Leheney, Robert (Karen) Leheney, and Debora (Steve) Cox all of Cleveland, OH, and a step-daughter, Kathleen (Joe) Baumann of Columbus, OH; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Jordan, Amanda and Rachel Leheney, and Jimmy and Joey Baumann. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to The Auxiliary at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, c/o the Heart Center and coronary care unit, PO Box 21117, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925. Donations made to this special fund will be used towards acquiring essential equipment and assisting with advanced education for the staff. The Auxiliary at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center is a 501c3 organization. The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
