Steven L. Householder, of Euless, TX, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Peace Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends afterwards. Steven was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Sept. 4, 1943. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy and attended The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., for three years. While at The Citadel, he excelled as a member of the skydiving team. He completed his undergraduate degree in business at Florida Southern University after a tour of duty in Vietnam. He earned his master’s in business from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., after which he enjoyed a successful 30-year career in the insurance industry. His career took him to several locations across the country, including Buffalo, N.Y., Parker, Colo., and different cities across Texas and enabled him to engage in many of his life’s passions, such as golf, scuba diving and travel. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Peggie, moved to Euless to be near their children and grandchildren. While in Euless he found a welcoming church home at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Robert C. Householder and Carma F. Householder. Survivors: Wife, Peggie L. Householder; children, Stephen Kolski and wife, Molly, Samuel Kolski and wife, Norma, and Christian Kolski and wife, Melanie; and grandchildren, Lauren, David, Bria, Julia and Allison Kolski.
