Stephen D. Pelet, 25, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Coatesville, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Born in Lancaster, he was the beloved son of Douglas M. and Sherry Phillips Pelet. Stephen was a 2002 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School and a 2006 graduate of The Citadel, where he earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. For the past two years, he was employed as a civil engineer with RPM Engineering in Myrtle Beach, SC. Stephen was a private pilot and also enjoyed sailing, golf and scuba diving. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Folly’s Island, South Carolina. Surviving him, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Christina M. Pelet and a brother, Timothy M. Pelet; maternal grandparents, Shirley J. and Henry L. Phillips; three uncles, J. Michael (Nancy) Pelet, Daniel and Andrew Pelet and an aunt, Cynthia (Roy) Hohl. He is also survived by his close friends in South Carolina, J. Parks Payne and Nancy Payne. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 16 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 101 Kylies Road, Coatesville. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
