Wakefield, Sandra Little Sandy Sandra Little Sandy Wakefield, a rancher, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.Memorial service: 2:30 p.m. Friday at White’s Funeral Chapel in Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paws Across Texas, P.O. Box 164084, Fort Worth, Texas 76161.Sandy graduated from Weatherford High School, received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston, and her master’s of education degree from the Citadel. She was a military wife for 21 years, traveling the U.S. from coast to coast. Sandy was active in Paws Across Texas, a pet therapy organization with both her current dog, Dancer, and her first golden retriever, Pita. She was also an active member of the Weatherford Master Gardeners Association and a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser’s Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Bertha Little; and by her first golden retriever, Pita. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. James Bohnsack and his staff for all their unselfish support and true devotion during Sandy’s last days.Survivors: Husband, Jim Echols of the home; her son, Scott Wakefield of New York City; two aunts; and several cousins; and also survived by her beloved golden retriever, Dancer.
