Robert McMillan Koger, Jr., of Tarpon Springs, Fla., died July 20, 2019 Service Information: A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 5-8 PM Currents Third Space Event Hall located at 200 E Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 Robert (Bob) McMillan Koger, Jr., 74, peacefully passed at his home in Tarpon Springs on July 20, 2019. Bob was a loving husband to his wife, Peggy and devoted father to his children Alicia Koger Murcko (Bill), Kristy Koger LaRose (Kris) and Robert Koger III. He treasured his brother, Philip Koger and adored his grandchildren Kamryn LaRose and Landon Vanzant-Murcko. Bob was born August 25, 1944 in Hamilton, Bermuda where his father, Robert M. Koger, Sr. was serving as a Marine. Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, Bob was an avid boater and loved being on the water and on the beach! He graduated from Clemson University and then served as a Captain in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the Vietnam war. He went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Bob worked as a sales director with various consumer products firms, eventually retiring from Georgia Pacific paper products division. Bob had a sense of humor that was contagious, a generous nature and the warmest smile and eyes that gave him the “Bob Koger, Nice Guy” title by anyone that was fortunate enough to meet him! He, and his wife of 41 years, raised two daughters and a son in North Royalton, Ohio. Bob was active in his community, volunteering at the neighborhood pool, coaching his son’s soccer team and making sure his kids had plenty of fun activities going on. While enjoying time at the family home on Lake Erie, Bob taught dozens of friends and family how to water ski! He loved dancing, music, laughing and having “Wednesday On the Water” lunches with a group of men in Pointe Tarpon Townhomes, affectionately called the ROMEOs. (Retired Old Men Eating Out.
