Robert Kenneth Ewing Robert Kenneth Ewing, D.O., 85, of Perkins OK, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, in Stillwater. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Perkins Cemetery, Perkins, with the Rev. Jim Shepherd and the Rev. William Stacey officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 5, 1922, in Clinton, Iowa, to Frank C. Ewing and Isabel A. (Bailey) Ewing. He married Velda O. Linder Sept. 12, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, and they have been married for 62 years. He attended schools in Clinton and graduated high school in Clinton. He attended North East Missouri State College, the Citadel and the University of Illinois. He received his doctorate from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced in Sneedville, Tenn., and Western Oklahoma until he moved to Perkins in 1946 and worked as a physician for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Methodist Church, DeMolay, Sigma Tau Gamma, Iota Tau Sigma, Sigma Chi and various state and national osteopathic organizations. He held offices and sat on boards in various medical organizations. He had a passion for music and enjoyed golfing and traveling. Since 1988 he and his wife spent their winters in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Walter Ewing. He is survived by his wife of Perkins, one son, Robert Ewing, II and his wife, Molly,í of Reno, Nev.; one daughter, Nancy Ann Glover and her husband, Brandt, of College Station, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott Glover, Greg Glover, Kyle Ewing and Melissa Glover and one sister, Marilyn Van Horn and her husband, Thomas, of Morris, Ill.
