Robert E Waters, devoted husband, father, air force veteran, and community leader, passed away on September 6 at the age of 80.
Born on February 25, 1945, in Charleston, SC, ‘Bob’ was a proud graduate of The Citadel in 1968. He served honorably in the US Air Force in Vietnam and Iraq, and received the Air Medal for meritorious achievement.
Bob had a career in hospital administration, where his leadership made a lasting impact. Colleagues remember his professionalism, guidance, and devotion to service.
He generously shared his time and talents, serving on the vestry of St. Mark’s church.
Bob had an avid love for nature and nature photographer. His time in the wilderness and photographs of landscapes and wildlife revealed his artistic vision and his profound appreciation for the natural world.
Above all, he cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, children, Sandy and Parrish, grandchildren, Sam, Chris, Siler, and Ingram, and his brother Rollie, who carry on his legacy of kindness, faith, and curiosity.
Bob will be remembered with love for a life of devoted service, faith, and appreciation of the beauty around him.
