Robert (Yoga Bob) Fritzsche, 84 years, of Green Oh, went home to be with the Lord March 27, 2014. Born in Chicago Ill and an area resident for most of his life, Bob retired from Lockheed after 28 years of service as an electrical engineer and was a Navy veteran of the American-Korean War.
Bob was a life-long advocate of healthy living and exercise. He loved nature, photography and serving the community. Bob was a member of the Chapel and served at the Green Campus as an usher. He was an active staff member at the Green Family YMCA and was known to never be able to turn down an opportunity to teach a yoga, pilates or silver sneakers class.
Bob was also a member of the Green Kiwanis Club where he served as past president and past Lt. Gov. of Division 16E of Ohio Kiwanis. He served on the Green Zoning Commission for many years and was a member and past director of the Drum and Bugle Corp., Wayfarer Lodge #789, AASR Valley of Akron, Barberton American Legion and Firestone Post #3383 VFW.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Minnie Fritzsche and brother Mike Fritzsche he is survived by daughters Debra (Jeff) Stewart, Kathy (Neil) Londa, April (David) Norton, Julie (Jeff) Davis, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Allen and David Fritzsche and long-time friend Barbra Lewis.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 30th, at 2:00pm, followed by a gathering with the family, at the Chapel, Green Campus, 1800 Raber Rd with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Inurnment at Ohio Western National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the Green Family YMCA, 2800 Massillon Rd, towards their annual Partners with Youth Campaign.
