Richard C. Beck, 83, of Centerville, Ohio, entered his eternal life with God on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.D. and Kathryn Beck, of Sidney; brother, James Beck; sister-in-law, Patricia Beck; and daughter by marriage, Lee Ann Lachey. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; daughters, Debbie (Mike) Richwine, Lisa Beck, Kathy (Jim) Kelly, Ellen (Mark) Campbell and daughter by marriage, Leslie Laramy. Also surviving is his aunt, Margaret Stueve and numerous cousins; niece, Terry (Mike) McLaughlin; nephews, Jim (Kathy) Beck and Tim (Debbie) Beck, all of Minster. Grandchildren include Heather (Gianni) Doddato, Molly and Emma McGuire, Patrick Richwine, Matt and Sarah Kelly, Buck (Karen) Lachey, Jared (Tonya) Lachey and Lena (Andrew) Griggs. Great-grandchildren include Cristian and Amilia Doddato, Calvin and Jack Lachey, Kendall and Kingston Lachey, Lillian Griggs and Joshua Davis. Special family members include Mary Schaefer and daughters, Angel and Salina Leist; also extended family in Michigan. He received his education at Holy Angels, Sidney High, The Citadel in Charleston S.C., and his Masters at the Wharton School at the University of Penn. He served in Korea as 1st Lieutenant Infantry of the U.S. Army. He retired in 1992, after 35 years, from Merrill Lynch. Richard is a former member of St. Albert the Great Parish and charter member of Sycamore Creek Country Club. He has been a member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1978. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends following the service until 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Lung Association, The Humane Society of Greater Dayton, or St. Jude’s Hospital.
