Richard Burton Brown, age 50, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away suddenly on May 30, 2015 from injuries sustained in an accident while working on a friend’s farm.
Rich was born on August 17, 1964 to David and Joanne Brown in Ft. Benning, Georgia.
Rich graduated from Leon High School and received a degree in Mathematics from The Citadel in 1986. He honorably served as a Captain and paratrooper in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division for 10 years including 4 years in Germany.
Following his military service, he joined Morgan Stanley in Tallahassee as a Vice President Financial Advisor for 20 years.
Rich married his college sweetheart and best friend, Karin Fontanesi Brown in 1988. Rich is survived by his wife Karin; son, Sgt. Joshua Brown; daughters, Emily Brown and Hayley Brown, all of Tallahassee; parents, David and Joanne Brown, of Tallahassee; sister Cathy Brown Boortz of Jacksonville, and a large and loving extended family.
Rich was active in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and The Citadel Alumnae. He lived life to the fullest with a spirit of adventure and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and FSU football. Rich was devoted to his beloved family; a trusted advisor and a treasured friend to many. His kind and loving spirit will be deeply missed and cherished in our hearts.
A memorial mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 624 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308 at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 4. There will be a reception in the church hall following the mass. Contributions in memory of Rich may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
