Raeburn Cromwell Munson, of Islip, NY passed away on April 5, 2020 at the age of 71 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease after a twenty year battle with the disease. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Flamman). Loving father of Pamela Munson Hurwitz (Adam) and Paige Munson. Cherished grandfather of Beatrix and Agatha. He is also survived by his beloved grand-dogs Charlotte and Monroe. He is predeceased by his parents Oliver and Helen Munson. Rae was a graduate of the Eastern Military Academy and The Citadel, Class of ’71. After graduating from college, he enlisted in the Army. Rae worked for his entire professional career at The Grinnell Lithographic Company which was a family business ultimately becoming it’s President and CEO. He was a member of the Southward Ho Country Club where he enjoyed many summers with his family. He was an animal lover, history buff, voracious reader, and loved tennis, travel, music, and good food. More recently, he enjoyed spending time at the Long Island Veterans Home and Islip Senior Center where he played poker. Cremation is private. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
