Rachel Ashley Steinhauer, of Detroit, MI, formerly of Charleston, SC, and Orange Park, FL, age 25, passed away on December 6, 2018. She was born on September 2, 1993 in Orange Park, FL. On August 3, 2018 she married Jacob E. Steinhauer at the Summerall Chapel at The Citadel in Charleston, SC, and he survives. Also surviving are her parents, Kenneth (Beckie) Keefer of Orange Park, FL and Yvonne Keefer of Orange Park, FL; father and mother in-law , Marty (Nancy) Steinhauer; maternal grandparents , Robert (Gwyneth) Evans of FL, two cousins , Meghan and Elise, two brothers in-law , Michael Steinhauer and Collin Steinhauer, as well as Jake’s grandparents Richard (Katherine) Koziski of Chelsea and Judith Steinhauer of Chelsea. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents , Donald and Betty Keefer, as well as Jake’s uncle Philip Steinhauer , and grandfather Gerald Steinhauer. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from high school, she attended The Citadel where she played volleyball and led her team as Team Captain. She graduated with a degree in accounting and moved to Detroit, MI where she worked in Risk Advisory for Ernst and Young. Rachel loved Charleston. She loved to travel and loved spending time with her family and friends. All services are private.
