Randall Kevin McGarvey, age 54, of St. Simons Island, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
A service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service.
Randall Kevin McGarvey passed away on January 8, 2025.
Kevin was the son of Cormac Murray McGarvey Jr. and his late mother, Genie Ruth Reeves McGarvey. He is survived by his father, Cormac Murray McGarvey Jr.; his loving wife, Kathryn Elizabeth McGarvey; and his beloved children: Griffin William Murray and Adalena Ivy Jane McGarvey, Lillian Alexis, Madisen Rose, and Elizabeth Grace Matherly. His grandchildren include Liam, Chase, and Lylah Cryer. He also leaves behind his aunts: Carlotta Jernigan of Jacksonville, Kathleen M. Corbitt of Saint Simons, and Cecilia McGarvey of Savannah.
Kevin was born in Augusta, GA, alongside his beloved twin, Murray Patrick McGarvey, on November 26, 1970. Kevin and Murray grew up on St. Simons and attended Glynn Academy, graduating in 1989. The brothers then attended college at The Citadel in Charleston, SC, with Kevin graduating in the November company of ’93 and Murray in company Kilo in ’94. Sadly, Murray lost his life in 2006 at the age of 36. After the loss of his brother, Kevin continued to oversee their businesses, including McGarvey Properties, The Wee Pubs, as well as real estate ventures and stock market investments.
Kevin remained active in Citadel activities and enjoyed golf, especially on the courses in Ireland, where he often visited. His love of travel, the birth of his precious twins, and his family brought him the greatest joys in life. Becoming a father later in life, his children’s laughter and affection brightened his world and enriched his life beyond measure. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
