Raymond Daniel “Danny” Day, 76, of Seneca, husband of Jane Day, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Born in Charleston, SC on April 1, 1945, Danny was the son of the late Raymond and Emmie Lee Day. A veteran of the US Air force, he was a graduate of The Citadel and the University of South Carolina Law School. He practiced law in Oconee County for 40 years. He served as deacon, elder, and trustee at Seneca Presbyterian Church. Danny was the Oconee County Library Commission chairperson, Tamassee DAR board member, Oconee Memorial hospital ethics committee advisor, Election Commission chairperson, and Cheney Minstrels raconteur. In 2018, he was recognized by the South Carolina Senate for “dedicated service to Oconee County.” He was a faithful, considerate, loyal friend, and a loving, generous, caring father and grandfather. He will truly be missed by the legal profession, Citadel alumni, long time friends, and adoring family. Danny is survived by his son, Brian Day (Jaime) and grandson Tom of Columbia, SC; and sister Rhettt Day of Ridgeland, SC. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Seneca Presbyterian Church, 115 West South First Street, Seneca, SC. A celebration of life will follow the service at the church Pastors’ Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seneca Presebyterian Church, 115 West South First Street, Seneca, SC 29678.
