Philip E. Osborn, of Mount Pleasant, died June 27, 2024. He was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Posted to Norfolk, VA, he served as a Gunnery and Operations Officer on various support ships, and attained the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. He entered the Federal Civil Service working at multiple government agencies, of note to include the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) and the US Secret Service. In 1994 he retired after 32 years of Federal Service. Relocating to Mount Pleasant, SC, he joined the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum in 1995 working in various capacities until fully retiring in 2009. He was a member of The Citadel Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife, his son, CDR Eugene D. Osborn, MSC, USN, 00, a daughter, and three grandchildren.
