Celebration of Life services for Peter Ronald Buckley, 74, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Buckley passed away Thursday, June 3, in Cullman following a brief illness. Peter was born Nov. 26, 1935, in Atlanta, Ga. After graduating from The Citadel, he went into pharmaceutical sales, and then joined his father’s business selling sporting goods for 25 years. After his father sold the business, Peter went into business himself. After he retired from the sporting goods business, he worked at Walmart in the sporting goods section for nine years. Peter was especially proud of his role as Grandpa Pete and loved to take his grandchildren to the beach, the park, the zoo, and on vacations with his wife, Reba. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years of marriage, Reba; a son, Britt (Danielle) Buckley of Canton, Ga.; five daughters, Kelley (Dave) Pugmire of Marietta, Ga., Diana (Thomas) Strickland of Hoover, Dena (Jeff) Hendrix of Cullman, Teresa (Chris) Kelly of Kingston, N.Y., and Tammy (Scott) Ferguson of Hoover; 12 grandchildren, Sam, Joseph, Rowan, Austin, Lauren, Natalie, Ben, Graham, Jake, Dillon, Cameron and Cassandra; and three great-grandchildren, Cara, Hadley and Corinne.
