Paul Fetscher, of Long Island, NY, died June 11, 2025. He was a commercial real estate broker. Paul passed away after complications from a recent stroke. He was 79.
Paul grew up in Brooklyn and started out in the restaurant industry even before joining us at The Citadel. He began his commercial real estate career in 1969 and became a top retail producer nationwide for Cushman & Wakefield trough the 1970s, also leading Caldwell Banker Commercial NRT’s Commercial Division.
According to many in the New York area, there wasn’t much about real estate, or anything else for that matter, that Paul didn’t know. He was a member of MENSA, the international society of people with high IQs, and one of the Long Island, NY, real estate community’s most celebrated professionals. He was the broker-owner of Long Beach-based Great American Brokerage, a company he founded in 1980 that specialized in retail and restaurant real estate. He completed more restaurant deals throughout the NY metropolitan area than just about any other broker, all the while mentoring others throughout the industry! According to most, he wasn’t just the genius behind his company – he was the hospitality titan who counseled hotel owners on maximizing their food and beverage operations, turning restaurants into goldmines from Dubai to New York.
An accomplished long-distant runner, Paul was a past National Champion at 50 Kilometers (31.1 miles) and won six marathons. He ran in over 2,000 races, including more that 300 marathons throughout the world!
