IRMO / Norman G. Holliday Jr., 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Baptist Hospital after an illness. Mr. Holliday was born in Marion, a son of the late Norman G. Holliday Sr. and Mary Wall Holliday. He was an Episcopalian by faith. Mr. Holliday was a Shag teacher and was a member of the Shaggers Hall of Fame. He was also an avid Golfer and sailor. Mr. Holliday was retired from the real estate industry. He was a Citadel Graduate, Class of 1960, and a veteran, serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army. Mr. Holliday is survived by his wife, Wanda W. Holliday of the home, a son, Brent Kiefer Holliday and his wife, Betty of Garner, N.C.; daughters, Julie Coker and her husband, Bruce of Walterboro, Kim Hampton and her husband, Mitch of Manning, Susan Michalak and her husband, Terry of Charleston, and Angela Holliday of Myrtle Beach; as well as five grandsons. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at Richardson Funeral Home.
