Dr. Harvey W. Schiller

- Schiller has distinguished himself in military service, education, business, and as a leader in collegiate, professional and international sports.
- Upon graduation from The Citadel, Schiller was commissioned an officer in the US Air Force and flew more than a thousand sorties on the C-123 Provider during the Vietnam War, for which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He earned a Masters and Doctoral Degree in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and served as Professor and Head of the Chemistry Department at the United States Air Force Academy. Schiller retired from the Air Force as a Brigadier General.
- Schiller has been named several times as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Sports” by Sporting News. He held executive leadership positions in numerous sports related enterprises and organizations, including President of Turner Sports, Turner and Time Warner Broadcasting, CEO of YankeeNets, a conglomerate that owned the NY Yankees, New Jersey Nets and New Jersey Devils, Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Conference, and Executive Director of the United States Olympic Committee. Schiller was instrumental in landing the 1996 Summer Games for Atlanta, and the 2002 Winter Games for Salt Lake City.
- Schiller has held executive leadership positions in several business ventures including serving as Chairman of Assante, USA; the GlobalOptions Group, Chairman of Collegiate Sports Management Group and Vice Chairman for Digital Media, Entertainment and Sports Practice of Diversified Search, as well as serving on the advisory boards of Mesa Air Group and Walker Innovation.
- Schiller is a member of The Citadel Athletic and Business Halls of Fame and was awarded the prestigious Olympic Order by the International Olympic Committee. In 2013, he was honored as one of the “Pioneers and Innovators in Sports Business” by Sports Business Journal.
