Dr. Harrison L. Peeples

Hometown: Estill, SC
- Dr Peeples founded the Baptist College in Charleston (now Charleston Southern University). He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Medical University of South Carolina and was a member of Board of Visitors of Clemson University.
- Dr Peeples graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School and served as Captain in the US Army Medical Corps from 1943 through 1944. He practiced medicine in Hampton and neighboring counties for over 50 years.
- He served as President of the South Carolina Medical Association from 1979 to 1980, and in 1980, was named South Carolina "Family Doctor of the Year. In 1980 he was named one of the "Top Ten" Family Physicians in the United States by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
