- White completed a legendary 26 year career as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, later renamed the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). His remarkable success in dangerous undercover operations and in bringing to justice heroin and cocaine traffickers, made him an icon within law enforcement. With nicknames like the "Rifleman," "Dirty Harry" and "Wizard," White's fearless exploits brought him national media attention and were the inspiration for the hit TV show of the 1980's and 90's - Miami Vice. White's customized Colt 45 firearm with his initials engraved in the ivory handle, is on display in the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Va.
- White led important drug enforcement operations in New York, Miami, and Chicago, and in 1987, he was picked to lead Operation Snowcap, a clandestine joint agency counter-narcotics operation conducted by the DEA, BORTAC (U.S. Border Patrol Tactical Unit) and military/police forces in nine Latin American countries.
- White was commissioned as an officer in the US Army upon graduation from The Citadel. He served with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam and was awarded the Silver Star, theBronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge.
