A combat assignment to Vietnam as an Airborne rifle platoon leader followed by completion of Special Forces training and Advisor to the Cambodian Army began an exceptional military career in Special Operations. A participant in the assault on Grenada he later assumed command of Special Ops Command South, US Southern Command.In '96 he took command of US Army Special Forces at Ft Bragg and '98 command of US Army J.F. Kennedy Special warfare School/Center. In 2000 he was promoted to Deputy C.O. of NATO forces , Kosovo. In 2001 assigned as Asst Chief of Staff Allied Forces N. Europe he retired as the Sr. US Military Representative, The Netherlands in 2003.Combat awards include the Bronze Star w/V and 2OLC, Air Medal and Purple Heart.
