Oliver Bateman
Class of 1948
Enlisted in the USAAF after 1 year at The Citadel and served as a P-51 pilot with the famous WW11 USAAF Flying Tigers in China (23rd Fighter Group). Re-entered The Citadel after WW11 to graduate and later earned an MBA at Harvard Business School. Flew missions during the Korean War, President of a Georgia peach shipping co. (Bateman Co.), and served as Senate Minority Leader(R) in the Georgia Senate 1965-1973.
