He served 22 years as both an airborne and special forces soldier seeing combat in Korea and Vietnam. Later he earned a PH.D and taught Political Science at Loyala, Chicago rising to Chair the Department,later retiring as Professor Emeritus.A nationally known author and editor of too many publications to mention here, he has been a leader in military thought giving numerous lectures to officers of the armed forces all over the world.
