William G. Watson

Class of 1931

Nationally recognized in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, he performed the extraordinarily delicate, and immensely stressful, task of caring/administering to the lives of two human beings simultaneously more than 15,000 times over 51 years of delivering babies beginning in 1944. Turning 100 on Feb 25, 2010, he continued his 67 year career serving patients as the oldest practicing physician in the country. A wing at The Medical College of Georgia's Women's Center is named in his honor for his remarkably successful achievements.
