General Counsel for the 2nd largest executive branch of federal government, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs from 1991-1993. In that capacity he held the cabinet level rank of Assistant Secretary and directed a professional staff of over 600 government attorneys and 53 District Counsel offices, nationwide. Previously, he completed a 22 year military career with the US Army retiring as a Colonel, and a family law practice in Texas. Two interesting notes: From 1970-73 he was a lead defense counsel during the My Lai War Crimes trial, and he served as Commander of Company C of the 3rd Infantry Regiment----the Presidential Honor Guard. The recipient of numerous military and civilian awards, he has invested personal time by offering his outstanding leadership qualities in directing the activities of numerous commissions, boards, and committee's.
