Joseph H. Earle

- US Senator from SC 1896-97.
- Member SC House of Representatives from 1878-1882, and SC Senate from 1882-1890.
- Admitted to practice law in 1870, he was elected Circuit Judge 1894.
- According to the January 1863 Board of Visitors minutes, Earle was appointed as a probationary pay pupil in the Arsenal Academy. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1864 and attained the rank of sergeant serving in Charles Battery as part of Kemper's Artillery.
