Head Track and Cross-Country Coach (boys/girls) St. Paul's HS, Mobile, Ala. from 1978-2015. Since 1983 his teams have claimed over 100 separate Alabama State Championships, to include over a combined 40 team second place finish's. The girls Cross-Country team holds the national record for longest consecutive state championships in the nation at sixteen (1983-1998)! Selected as National HS Cross-Country Coach of the Year (1999). Coach Tate has instructed and helped to develop thousands of young men and women in his capacity of an extraordinarily successful Head Coach. 55 of his HS athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.
