- During his 35-year distinguished military career Parks served as Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Commanding General of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Commanding General of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA., and Chief of Staff Marines, Pacific. Parks served as a platoon leader and company executive officer, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion in South Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2004. His military awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star with Combat V.
- Upon retirement, Parks has served as CEO at Efficient Energy Advisors LLC and previous to this, he served as president and CEO of South Carolina Credit Union League and Affiliates.
