Nancy Limehouse Morrow entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 22, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the home of Nancy and David Morrow following the service. The Rite of Committal will be private. A native of Charleston, Nancy was born July 10, 1951, a daughter of Robert E. Limehouse and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Limehouse. Nancy, devout in her Catholic faith, attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Bishop England High School through her Sophomore year. Her family moved from the peninsula to West Ashley and Nancy graduated from St. Andrews. After graduation, Nancy attended The College of Charleston where she studied English with intentions of being a grade schoolteacher. She was a member of Chi Omega at The College of Charleston and continued to stay involved with the sorority throughout her lifetime. Nancy graduated The College of Charleston in 3 years with a BA in English and soon thereafter began teaching English at Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner. Nancy met her husband, David, in 1973 and they married in 1975. During their courtship, Nancy also attended The Citadel where she earned her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in 1976. Nancy and David moved around the state of South Carolina in the early years of marriage as David advanced his career in the banking industry and Nancy would go to work as a teacher wherever they lived. Nancy, known for her elegant style and taste, enjoyed decorating and beautifully transforming the homes she and David would live in as they moved. Nancy went on to teach for 17 years, before retiring from to enter her next chapter of her career as an interior designer. She loved her new career that allowed her to share her style with friends, family and clients, but also allowed her time to spend with her boys, Jennings and Griffin, after school including sports, homework and even some English paper help. This new career also allowed her time to support David’s budding career as a banking executive. Nancy was known for not knowing a stranger, and if she did not know someone, she made sure to come to know them. She was the ultimate connector of people, making friends as she moved around with her family. Her infectious smile and ability to connect was also a trait she instilled in her boys, who will continue her legacy as a connector of people. Nancy served her community and at her church in various ways throughout her life. Specifically, Nancy served on The College of Charleston Alumni Board and was an advocate for people in need. She was proud to mentor Alexis Jones through the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program from the time Alexis was a young girl and has continued to their relationship until the time of Nancy’s passing, but she found joy in serving in any way possible. The epitome of a classic Southern lady, Nancy will always be remembered for her lovely manners and discerning style of dress. Her many and various family gatherings and gracious parties were presented in a traditional manner. There was not a holiday or birthday celebration that she let go unnoticed! She even baked the cake. Always thoughtful, loyal and devoted to her friends. Nancy made an indelible impression and there will be stories shared about her for years to come. Nancy is survived by her husband, David L. Morrow; her sons, Jennings (Lucy) and Griffin (Brittany); her grandchildren, Isabella Grace, Finn, Latham and Etta; her sisters, Linda (Henry) and Debbie; and nephews, Michael (Cynthia) and Kyle; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
