Norman Dean Kubler, 76, of Davie, Florida, beloved husband and best friend of Jane Kubler for 50 years passed away on March 25, 2023.
Dean was born in Red Hook, NY on January 3, 1947, and was a resident of South Florida for over 60 years. He graduated from Miami Norland High School and continued to become a proud alumnus of The Citadel class of 1969, and honorably served with the US Army. Dean went on to complete a 38-year career with Allstate Insurance.
Dean was very devoted to his family, to his friends and to serving the community. He dedicated his service to others through the Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age 14, Vigil Honor in 1997 and was the Scoutmasters Camporee Chief in 2002. He truly embraced the values taught through scouting, invested in the leaders it created and enjoyed rich, life-long Scout friendships. Dean was also dedicated to Broward County Crime Stoppers, the Hollywood Stamp Club and the Plantation United Methodist Church, each of which he served for over 30 years.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Ann Kubler of Helen, Georgia. Dean is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart Jane Friedewald Kubler, their two children Ashley Kubler Doebbeling, her husband John and their children Edison, Henry and Elin and Tate Kubler, his wife Annie and their children Lilly, Reagan and Greg and his brother Dale Kubler, and his wife Susan.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 2nd at 3:00 PM at Plantation United Methodist Church.
Dean will be buried with military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 4th at 12:30 PM.
