Thomas Petigru Lesesne III of Mount Pleasant, a retired attorney and an associate with Dickinson, Mikell, and Comar Inc. Customs Agents, died Friday, October 3, 1986, in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 2pm Sunday in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Mount Pleasant. Burial, directed by McAlister’s, will be in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lesesne was born June 8, 1933, in Charleston, a son of Thomas Petigru Lesesne Jr. and Emma Larsen Lesesne. He was a 1955 graduate of The Citadel and a 1961 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law.
He also was a retired Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel and had been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He was past commander of Mark Clark Post 10 of the American Legion.
Mr. Lesesne was a former member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Carolina Yacht Club, the St. Cecelia Society, Sertoma Club, and the Society of Colonial Wars. He was also a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his mother of Charleston; his wife, Doris Clary Lesesne, of Mount Pleasant; a son, Thomas P. Lesesne IV; a daughter, Caroline Clary Lesesne of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, Eugene F. Lesesne of Charleston and Navy Capt. Henry Deas Lesesne of Washington DC.
