Moses “Nick” Kenyon Millard Jr., 93, of Midland, died on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at King’s Daughters Home in Midland. Son of the late Moses and Curtis Farmer (Seigler) Millard, Nick was born in Aiken, South Carolina, on July 4, 1930. He graduated The Citadel College before honorably serving in the United States Airforce as a navigator. Nick was part of the Vietnam conflict and retired with 22 years of active service. On September 9, 1955, he married the love of his life, the former Phyllis Ann Herron. She preceded him in death. Nick loved to fly and travel, some of his favorite places to go with Phyllis was to Mexico as well as Northern Michigan. He was an artist who enjoyed painting, sculpting, woodworking, and writing. Nick was a great Dad with a generous and kind heart, great sense of humor, and was a loving believer in Jesus.
Left to cherish Nick’s memory are his children, Brian Millard, Julie (Ron) Wright, and Mary Elizabeth Elias; brother, Wesley (Dottie) Millard; sister, Josefa (Jerry) Smoak; grandchildren, Jason, Kara, Danny, Brianna, Jeremiah, Jillian, Andrew, Nick, and Anna; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents and spouse, Nick was preceded in death by his brother, David Millard; and sisters, Lynn Janus and Ann Ellerbee.
A memorial service for Nick will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Midland Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Gib Giblin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Midland Evangelical Free Church.
