Michael S. O’Neal, 65, died in a fatal car accident on Saturday, June 23, 2012, in San Angelo, Texas. There will be a private military service on the East Coast at a later date. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Michael was born to Henry and Doris O’Neal on Jan. 30, 1947, in Panama City, Fla. He graduated from the Citadel in 1974. After 26 years of active duty service as an intel officer, he retired as a United States Navy Commander. He was preceded by both of his parents. Michael was a beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his two daughters, Martha O’Neal of San Angelo, Megan Thornton and husband Blake of Swansboro, N.C.; five wonderful grandchildren, Jennifer Harrison, Trevor Lovely, Laura Lovely, Cameron Thornton and Jacob Krieger; and his very special friend, Mary Corcoran of San Angelo. We will all miss him unexplainably. His wishes were always to be cremated and have his ashes spread over the sea. If anyone is interested in attending the service, please contact Martha O’Neal at [email protected]. Tags: 1973
