Marion Hunter Tarrant, 82, of Hope Mills, NC, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.
He was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Fayetteville. He attended The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1955. He went on to work at Commercial Credit and Branch Banking & Trust, from which he retired in February 1988. He was a member of Faymont Baptist Church and was the happiest when spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, George, and daughter-in-law, Kristy, both of the home; his grandchildren, Allie of Hope Mills and Daniel of Manteo; three sisters, Love Page and husband Prennis of Stedman, Ann Bunce and husband Earl of Fayetteville, and Mary Bailey and husband Gerald of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; four nieces; seven nephews; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George B. and Love McDaniel Tarrant; and brothers, George Jr. and James Tarrant.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Faymont Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, in Faymont Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faymont Baptist Church Building Fund, 3663 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
